Dance offers a non-competitve alternative to many other physical activities. Recognised as an important part of all school aged students’
development, dance is now a part of many school syllabus programs.
The introduction of Sports Aerobics is a fantastic way to incorporate strength, flexibility and co-ordination in an organised format. Students
are taught a level of routine to experience an introduction to the relatively new sport. Many schools incorporate this program as part of there Year
9,10,11,12 assessment.

PE Program
|
The P.E. classes timetable for a term are allocated to dance. Dance teacher arrives at the school for each P.E. class to teach a
step by step program that is developed each week so that at the end of the period, the class has learnt a complete routine together.
For example, at Somerville House, all six Year 12 P.E. classes are allocated to dance for them to learn the same routine. A dance
teacher arrives six times a week to teach each of the classes so at the end of the term, year 12’s are able to perform the dance
together as one big group.
