Our mission is to deliver dance to as many children as possible and we strive to do this through our involvement with programs such as The Australian Sports Commission’s Active After-School Program and The Gold Coast City Council’s Active and Healthy Program. We work closely with schools to increase active participation among school children.
Club Funk Dance Studio provides fun fitness to students of all ages. Classes incorporate games into dance and teach step by step routines, following trends in music and encourage the style and originality found in each individual. The non-competitive atmosphere creates a comfortable environment for students to build their confidence and truly enjoy physical activity. Club Funk’s mission is to deliver dance to as many students as possible. We believe that there should be no pressure in classes to be the best, but rather ensure that those that want to dance have access to fitness in a safe and fun environment.
Our efforts to reach an extensive range of participants has lead us to be involved in such programs as The Australian Sports Commission’s Active After-School Program (Brisbane and The Gold Coast) as well as the Gold Coast City Council’s Active and Healthy Program.
We can teach, perform, inspire, motivate and amp up a crowd. We easily engage massive crowds and maintain their attention with our infectious enthusiasm. Our united group shows strength in building instant rapport equally among children and adults. Personalities of our instructors, entertainers and performers shine with humour, honesty, positivity and enthusiasm. Creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere, Club Funk shows are natural and reflect real life. Audiences are surprised and delighted, responding with admiration and willingness to be a part of the show-it is entertainment with the experience.
Inspiring young people to embrace an active Gold Coast lifestyle. Four popstar like characters, each with unique personality
traits will perform to both live and online audiences, with a fun, interactive dance show that is an active and memorable
experience for audiences.
The content of the show is a collection of dances to catchy tunes with catchy lyrics to teach the dance moves in a
way that we have used for the last 17 years. It is the use of these words that differentiates us again. Children can
quickly and easily start saying the words to each move and very young children are able to perform dances without the
aid of a teacher at all.

Activities are designed to promote physical development relevant to the age group-with options to ensure each task
is challenging yet achievable to promote growth tailored to each individual child. Emphasis is placed on getting
to know each family-the parents, their children and their unique reason for attending our classes each week. We
extend on those activities relevant to each group, yet deliver a consistent class each and every time. Repetition
is vital for this age group and as children begin to learn the order and routine, their confidence grows and they
begin to get the most out of the class. Confidence is key and these classes encourage children to feel comfortable
to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
Children are constantly moving at our classes. And so are the parents. Games are enhanced with props and we ensure
enough for all children, their parents and carers and their sibblings. Children are encouraged to be social with
other children their age, team activities encourage teamwork, partner games encourage real friendships to be formed.

Beyond dance moves, these classes focus on rhythm and musicality. Even just watching these classes or listening to these classes helps children feel beat, rhythm and pattern.
An active class for toddlers aged 2-5 years with their parents and carers. This program has been developed and
designed by Club Funk, specifically for the Move and Groove Program in the interest of toddler development.
We encourage parent/carer participation to strengthen the bond with their child, and to lead by example to
promote active lifestyles among children.
Play games and learn to move your body to music with our enthusiastic teachers at these fun, casual and social
classes. Children learn more than just dance steps and dance techniques. We teach musicality, shapes, colours,
taking turns, following instructions, sharing, team work, partnerships, how to make friends, eye tracking and
more.
Teaches step by step choreography to current release songs with fun games to encourage students to enjoy physical
activity. We include dance based technique exercises and drills to promote balance, co-ordination, memory and
agility. These activities are all hidden within dance based games to music with directions from the teacher
provided in a rhythm, rap or song.
Teachers sing acapella, chant and excite the children, enticing their involvement with colourful props such
as pom-pom shakers, glitter dance sticks, markers, super hero capes, bean bags, ribbons, ribbons on wooden
sticks, ribbon rings. This variety of props aids children with their pencil grip, strength and development.
Learn step by step choreography to latest release music. Stretching activities encourage proper dance technique
and alignment with a focus on developing strength and flexibility properly. Warm up and warm down are in circle
formation with rows now used for all dances. Children are given the opportunity to work in small groups to
break up the class at times and allow creative input from the students.
Children are guided on how to choreograph their own dances by teachers assisting students to put their moves
to counts of music and in time to tracks. This is a highlight for participants and where this age group learn
a lot from our classes as opposed to regular dance schools.
